The best Neapolitan pizza in the city?

Welcome back to the Windy City Weekly!

In todays email:

  • Great events for this weekend!

  • The best Neapolitan pizza in the Windy City?

  • Cycling + Coffee = ❤️

But first, a Chicago trivial question:

The Marina City Towers appear on the album of what artist’s album titled “Yankee Hotel Foxtrot?” Answer at the end of today’s newsletter.

Stay in the Loop

✌️Trade in City life for a few hours in the ‘burbs (a cool burb we promise). This weekend is the Oak Park Microbrew Review. Taste test beverages from 50+ breweries and plenty of food from Oak Park restaurants. Early entry is 1 pm on Saturday.

🎨 Grab the Metra to Davis Street in Evanston for the Art & Big Fork Festival! See thousands of works of art from 150 original (and really talented!) artists. There’s also plenty of food and drinks. The festival runs Friday night through Sunday.

🍹There’s a festival for everything these days. And that’s a good thing! Sangria Fest is this weekend (Sat/Sun) in Humbolt Park. Live music, pitchers of Sangria, and great weather. What more do you need?

🎥 Bueller….Bueller….Bueller? Next week Tuesday (8/20) is the last Millennium Summer Film Series showing of the year! Come watch a Chicago classic: Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Show starts at 6:30 pm.

🇮🇹Restaurant of the Week🍕

Why we love it:

Why pay $900+ to fly to Italy when you could take the Brown Line to Ravenswood for $2.75 for the most authentic Neapolitan pizza in the city?

How authentic is it? They bake their dough in an oven built by third and fourth-generation artisans from Napoli, Italy.

The Windy City Weekly team highly recommends the Pistacchio pizza with their speciality multigrain dough.

For an app, you can’t go wrong with the Burrata.

Don’t skimp out and try to split a pizza. You’ll fight over it. Trust us.

They have a patio that is first come first serve, so get there early!

WCW Rating: 🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕 We don’t give out 5 stars often, but the Spacca team deserves it * chef’s kiss *

📍1769 W Sunnyside, Ave

And a special thanks to a loyal WCW reader Luke F. for suggesting we recommend Spacca!

☕ Coffee Shop of the Week 🚲

Why we love it:

Maybe it’s because we’re still having Tour De France withdrawals, but this spot is more than just a shop—it’s a vibe.

Sip a perfectly brewed latte and watch Heritage craft your custom bike right before your eyes.

But we’re here for the coffee too. They roast great beans and the espresso is dialed in.

Whether you’re a cycling enthusiast or a coffee lover, Heritage is your go-to for both bikes and brews.

WCW Rating: ☕ ☕ ☕ ☕ It’s like a Post Malone country cross-over song, it just works.

📍2959 N Lincoln Ave

🍷 Watering Hole of the Week 🍷

Why we love it:

Just us? Or is this the fastest year of your life too?

Run, don't walk, to the Chicago Riverwalk for a Friday glass of Sauvignon Blanc while the sun is still giving Teletubbies-level sunshine. (*but be sure to check Windy City Weekly Weather first*).

We know anything downtown can be a little bit . . . touristy. But this spot has been charming locals since 1999 and is prime time for people watching. And who makes for better people watching than tourists?

Plus there’s live music on Thursday and Sunday night this week!

WCW Rating: 🍷🍷🍷 Come for the location, stay for the buzz, but you won’t be wowed by the menu.

📍 55 W Riverwalk South Chicago
